Consulting with Tribal government to improve social services within tribal communities directly impacts the health and well-being of tribal families. Tribal governments understand the complex governmental system we live and operate within. California is a Public Law 280 state which requires navigating several layers of government to include, federal, state, county and tribal government. I have 27 years of experience navigating governmental systems and offering evaluation, analysis, guidance, collaboration, policy development, program development, program improvement and implementation.
As a recognized expert witness, I've testified on 250+ cases involving Native American children in the child welfare system. I've worked with Probate, Juvenile Dependency and Juvenile Delinquency courts. I have 19 years of experience as an expert witness. I can assist with County child welfare cases and provide expert testimony on behalf of the Tribe and tribal family.
As a speaker and trainer with expertise in Native American child and family issues and generational/historical trauma, I bring a unique perspective to my work. My training and experience have equipped me with a deep understanding of the cultural, historical, and social factors that contribute to these issues, and I am able to convey this knowledge effectively through my presentations. I am committed to creating a safe and inclusive space for learning. Overall, my skills as a speaker and trainer are grounded in a deep respect and connection to my own Native American culture and tradition, and teaching. My hope is that my story will empower people to identify and understand their own trauma stories and how their story is often a derivative of generational and historical trauma.
